Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment appoints Philip Yea as independent Non-Executive Director

– UK – As part of the continuing process of succession planning, the Board of Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC is delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Yea as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 23 January 2014.

Nigel Cayzer, Chairman, commented: “I would like to welcome Philip to the Board.  Philip has extensive executive and non executive board level experience and brings significant further international business and technical experience to the Board.”

Philip was, until 2009, chief executive of 3i Group plc and prior to that served as a managing director at Investcorp Bank the Bahrain listed private equity firm and was group finance director at Diageo plc.  He is currently a non-executive director of Vodafone Group Plc, a trustee director of the Francis Crick Institute, Chairman of the Trustees of the British Heart Foundation and senior business adviser to H.R.H. The Duke of York.
