AquaBounty Technologies appoints Jack Bobo to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– USA, MA – AquaBounty Technologies, Inc. (AIM: ABTX, ABTU; OTC: AQBT), a biotechnology company focused on enhancing productivity in the aquaculture market, announces the appointment of Jack Anthony Bobo as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr. Bobo, aged 49, has significant expertise in the analysis and communication of global trends in biotechnology, food and agriculture to audiences around the world, and is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Intrexon Corporation, Inc. (NYSE: XON) (“Intrexon”), a biotechnology company and majority shareholder in AquaBounty, a position he has held since July 2015. He joined Intrexon from the U.S. Department of State where he worked for thirteen years, most recently as Senior Advisor for Food Policy following his positions as Senior Advisor for Biotechnology as well as Chief, Biotechnology and Textile Trade Division. Prior to this, Mr. Bobo was an attorney at Crowell & Moring LLP. Mr. Bobo currently serves as a director of Mainland Properties, a real estate investment company. He received a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

This appointment follows the resignation, with immediate effect, from the Board of Thomas Kasser who, since February 2013, has held one of the four Board positions allocated to Intrexon.
