Bureau Veritas appoints Frédéric Lemoine as Chairman of the Board of Directors

– FRANCE, PARIS – During the meeting of November 5, Frank Piedelièvre informed the Board of Directors of Bureau Veritas that he has decided to leave the Board and to devote himself fully to personal projects, while he has now fulfilled his mission to provide support to Didier Michaud-Daniel in his role of Chief Executive Officer since March 1, 2012.

The Board of Directors of Bureau Veritas has expressed its huge gratitude for all he has achieved for the Group and the key role he has played in the success of Bureau Veritas, which has become a world leader in its industry.

The Board of Directors of Bureau Veritas appointed Frédéric Lemoine as Chairman of the Board with effect from that date. Frédéric Lemoine has been on the Board since 2009, in the role of Vice-Chairman.

As recommended by the new Chairman, Frank Piedelièvre has been named Honorary Chairman of Bureau Veritas.

About Frédéric Lemoine

48 years of age, French nationality.

Frédéric Lemoine has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Wendel since April 7, 2009. He has been a Board member of Saint Gobain since April, 20, 2009, and a Board member of Insead since January 2011.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bureau Veritas since April 14, 2009, Frédéric Lemoine was appointed as Director and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Strategic Committee on June 3, 2009, when the mode of management and administration of Bureau Veritas was changed.
From 1992 to 1993 he spent a year managing the Heart Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and, in 2004, was made secretary-general of the Alain Carpentier Foundation that supported this hospital.

From 1995 to 1997 he was deputy manager for the office of the Minister for Employment and Social Affairs in charge of the coordination of social security and hospital reforms. In the meantime, he was also a representative of the secretary of State for Health and Social Security. From 1997 to 2002 he was deputy Director of Capgemini, then group Finance Director, before being appointed as deputy chief executive officer in charge of finance at Capgemini Ernst & Young. From May 2002 to June 2004 he was Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic under Jacques Chirac in charge of economic and financial affairs. From October 2004 to May 2008 he was Senior Advisor to McKinsey. From March 2005 to April 2009, he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board for Areva.

Frédéric Lemoine is a graduate of the HEC business school (1986) and of the Institut d`Études politiques de Paris (1987). He is an alumnus of the École Nationale d`Administration and an Inspecteur des finances.
