Legal & General Group appoints Philip Broadley to its Board as Independent Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Legal & General Group Plc (LSE:LGEN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Broadley as independent non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect. The appointment is part of a planned succession process and Philip will become Chair of the Audit Committee after a short handover period, taking over from Julia Wilson, who became Senior Independent Director in May.

Philip has extensive insurance experience having spent over 14 years in senior roles in insurance including as Group Finance Director at Old Mutual plc and prior to that as Group Finance Director of Prudential plc. Philip currently serves as a member of the Oxford University Audit and Scrutiny Committee and is a member of the Code Committee of The Takeover Panel as well as the Panel’s Finance Committee. Philip will also join the Nominations Committee and Risk Committee.

The Company also announces that Liz Zlatkus will step down from the Board with effect from 31 August 2016.
