Teespring announces Keith Rabois to its Board after raising $35m Series B financing round led by Khosla Ventures

– USA, CA/RI – Teespring, a leading custom commerce platform, today announced that it has raised $35 million in Series B financing led by Khosla Ventures. Existing investor Andreessen Horowitz also participated in the round. In addition to leading the investment, Khosla Ventures partner Keith Rabois will join Teespring’s Board of Directors, which also includes Lars Dalgaard, general partner at Andreessen Horowitz and Sam Altman, president of Y Combinator.

Teespring empowers entrepreneurs to create and sell high-quality custom merchandise without taking on the risks and overhead normally associated with starting a business. This funding brings the total amount raised to $55 million, which the company will use to scale and expand its operations, continue to build a world-class team, and launch new tools and resources to help its community build successful businesses on the Teespring platform.

“Our vision is to democratize commerce. We empower anyone who is entrepreneurial to make products for passionate audiences with the same quality and economies of scale of a major retail brand,” said Teespring CEO and co-founder Walker Williams. “This funding and the addition of Keith to our Board will enable us to scale and extend our market leadership as we strive to deliver the best experience possible for the Teespring community.”

“Teespring unlocks commerce for anyone with a spark of inspiration,” said Rabois. “By removing the barriers to producing and selling physical goods, Teespring enables anyone with just an idea or who has assembled an audience to design and sell products people love.”

Teespring has experienced tremendous growth and momentum since its launch in 2012. The company has delivered more than six million products to over 80 countries, with social media driving more than 60% of sales and mobile accounting for 65% of purchases each month.

To further support its growth, Teespring is building its first owned-and-operated production and fulfillment facility in Hebron, Kentucky which will significantly increase Teespring’s manufacturing and logistics capabilities. The 105,000-square-foot facility will be fully operational in early 2015 and is expected to create more than 300 jobs in the northern Kentucky region over the next year.
