Baillie Gifford Japan Trust appoints Joanna Pitman to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Edinburgh – Baillie Gifford Japan Trust PLC (LSE:BGFD), today announced the appointment of Joanna Pitman as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 28 June 2018.

Joanna Pitman read Japanese Studies at Cambridge University and speaks Japanese. She was Tokyo Bureau Chief of The Times from 1989 to 1994 and for the past eight years she has worked as a corporate research analyst focussed on Japan. She is Vice Chair of the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, Advisor to the UK Japan Young Science Workshops, a Director of the John Kobal Foundation and UK Chair of SAIDIA.
