Goldstone Resources appoints Richard Wilkins to its Board as Independent Non-Executive Director

– South Africa, Milnerton – GoldStone Resources Limited (AIM:GRL), the West and Central Africa focused gold exploration company quoted on AIM, is pleased to announce, further to its announcement of 27 November 2017, the appointment of Richard Wilkins as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Richard Wilkins qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and subsequently worked in their London and Cairo offices until moving into private business. Richard has considerable experience in emerging markets and the natural resources sector having been a founding director of Zeravshan Gold Co. (Nelson Gold Group – TSX) in Tajikistan in 1994 and co-founder of the Oxus Gold Group of which he was a director from 1996 to 2011. He is also currently a director and company secretary of US-focused base metal explorer and developer, Phoenix Global Mining Ltd which is quoted on AIM.

Richard is a graduate of Pembroke College, Oxford University, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Richard Wilkins was a director of each of Lifetree Group Limited and Cashtask Limited, both companies within the Volkswriter Group, which went into compulsory liquidation in July 1989 and March 1993 respectively. The Volkswriter Group went into administration and subsequent liquidation over the period 1988-1994, with bad debts in Germany and Scandinavia, alongside the demise of Lifetree Softward Inc., the US supplier of the computer software for which Volkswriter Ltd was the exclusive European distributor. No claims or liabilities arose against the directors.
