Herald Investment Trust announces Ian Russell to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Herald Investment Trust plc (LSE:HRI), today announced that Ian Russell has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 August 2018.

Ian Russell qualified as a chartered accountant with Thomson McLintock, moving on to work in a number of finance roles in industry and banking. He joined Scottish Power plc in 1994, initially as Finance Director, becoming CEO in 2001, a role he held until 2006.

Since then, Ian has concentrated on non-executive roles. Currently he is Chairman of HICL Infrastructure Company Limited and a non-executive director of Aberdeen Diversified Income and Growth Trust plc and of Mercantile Investment Trust plc. He is also Chair of the Scottish Futures Trust Limited, an independent company established by the Scottish Government with a responsibility for delivering value for money across public sector infrastructure investment.

During the past five years, Ian Russell was a non-executive director of the following publicly listed companies: British Polythene plc (until 2016) and Johnston Press plc (until 2016).

He has also previously held a number of other roles in unlisted companies and charitable organisations across a variety of sectors.
