Malvern International appoints Gopinath Pillai as Chairman of the Board of Directors

– SINGAPORE / UK, Milton Keynes- Malvern International plc (AIM: MLVN), the provider of educational services in the UK, Europe and Asia, is pleased to announce that Gopinath Pillai has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Company.

Mr Pillai is a director and founder shareholder of KSP Investments Pte Ltd, one of the Company’s major shareholders and has been a director of the Company since its flotation in 2004.

Mr. Pillai has a strong corporate back ground having worked in well established companies in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and India. He was General Manager of United Industrial Corporation, a publicly listed manufacturing company in Singapore and later General Manager of Intraco , a publicly listed conglomerate which was then partly owned by the Singapore government. He was also Chairman of Fairprice Cooperative which operates the largest retail chain in Singapore and has about 200,000 members. More recently he was Chairman for about 18 years of Gateway Distriparks, one of the larger publicly listed logistics companies in India and also Chairman of its listed subsidiary, Snowman Logistics, the largest cold chain facility in India which has Mitsubishi Corporation and IFC as shareholders.
