David Stewart has over 20 year’s board level experience in Financial Services. David will be stepping down as Chief Executive of the Coventry Building Society on 31st March 2014, having previously held the positions of Finance Director and Operations Director. Before joining Coventry in 2002, he worked for 10 years at DBS Management plc, holding a variety of positions including Group Chief Executive. David is a graduate of Warwick University and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Speaking today, Alan Cook said: “David’s long experience at a senior level in retail banking will be invaluable to the Group and I look forward to his contribution in the months ahead.”
Mr. Cook said that the appointment of Mr. Stewart concluded the process of Board recruitment which had begun following the re-constitution of the Group in its current form; “We are now at the end of a period of Board recruitment which has seen 6 new directors appointed since late 2012. The Board is now purpose built for the task of implementing the restructuring plan and returning permanent tsb bank to its role as a core competitive force in the Irish market.”
