Personal Assets Trust announces Iain Ferguson and Paul Read to its Board as Non-Executive Directors

– UK, Edinburgh – Personal Assets Trust plc (LSE:PNL) announced the appointment of Iain Ferguson and Paul Read as a non-executive Directors of the Company with effect from 1 December 2017.

Iain is non-executive Chairman of Stobart Group Limited and Hallmarq Limited. He is Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee at Balfour Beatty plc. He is also Chairman of Wilton Park, an independent and non-profit making executive agency of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Council member and Deputy Chair at Cranfield University. Iain was until 2009, Chief Executive of Tate & Lyle. Prior to joining Tate & Lyle in 2003, he spent 26 years at Unilever in a succession of roles culminating in his appointment as senior vice president, corporate development. He was formerly Chairman of Berendsen plc, a Non-executive Director of Greggs plc and Sygen plc, an Independent Director at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and a Member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers UK Advisory Board. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry & Psychology from St Andrews University and has the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme.

Paul co-leads Invesco Perpetual’s Fixed Interest team, managing a number of government, corporate and non-investment grade portfolios across the maturity spectrum. He began his investment career with UBS Ltd in 1986, and then moved to Merrill Lynch International in 1988. Paul initially worked on the bond sales desk, covering institutional investment managers at Merrill Lynch, before moving on to debt trading and working as a director of fixed interest trading in Tokyo from 1991 and in Paris from 1993 before joining Invesco in 1995. He holds a BA in Economics and History from the University of Toronto and also has an MBA from INSEAD.
