Wynnstay Group announces Steve Ellwood to its Board as upcoming Non-Executive Director

– UK, Llansantffraid – Wynnstay, the agricultural and retail group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen (“Steve”) John Ellwood as Non-Executive Director, with effect from 4 April 2016.

Steve, aged 58 years, has extensive experience in the UK Agriculture and Agri-food sector. He spent 25 years at HSBC Bank plc (“HSBC”), specialising in agriculture and was Head of Agriculture for 10 years, leading a UK wide team of 60 agriculture banking managers. Steve also spent four years as Head of Food and Agriculture at Smith & Williamson LLP, were he worked in corporate finance, advising on the firm’s interests in the food and agriculture sector, and providing consultancy on corporate restructuring, refinancing, and mergers and acquisitions.

Steve currently serves as Non-Executive Director of several companies in the sector, including Velcourt Farms, a leading UK farm management business. He is also actively involved in a number of significant industry initiatives and chairs European Food and Farming Partnerships, the food and farming consultancy.
